So we understand how frustrating it can be when you start getting \u00a0error messages\u00a0preventing you from using your photos.<\/p>\n<p>Problems are usually related to the file size limits we have imposed or the allowable file extensions.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, these are the limits:<\/p>\n<p>Per photo: \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">up to 450kb\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Total file size of all photos across all listings: \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">1MB*<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Limit of photos per listing: \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">12<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Think about how you should best should use the available space. \u00a0The higher the file size\u00a0of the photo, the less photos you&#8217;ll be able to upload. In our opinion, 200kb photos are fine for publishing on the web, but we&#8217;ll leave that decision\u00a0to you.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for a limit ultimately comes down to cost. The more photos that are uploaded on the website, the greater the bandwidth used. As bandwidth use increases, the site eventually slows down until we have to spend more money on hosting the site. \u00a0If the site becomes wildly profitable we promise we&#8217;ll increase the acceptable file size before we buy our brand new yacht.<\/p>\n<p>Acceptable file extensions are\u00a0.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">gif\u00a0 .jpg\u00a0 .png<\/span> \u00a0and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.jpeg<\/span> \u00a0(as of 1\/15\/16)<\/p>\n<p>If you have photos with another file extension then please contact us and we&#8217;ll see if we can add that extension.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Re-size your Photos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many smart phones and tablets take photos too large for\u00a0automatic uploading to our site. This means that you&#8217;ll need to re-size the photos.<\/p>\n<p>The simplest method is to email the photos to your self.<\/p>\n<p>When you email on your phone or tablet. you should be asked at what size you&#8217;d like to send the files.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-926 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/oddshoefinder.com\/oddshoesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_0110-577x1024.png\" alt=\"IMG_0110\" width=\"201\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oddshoefinder.com\/oddshoesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_0110-577x1024.png 577w, https:\/\/oddshoefinder.com\/oddshoesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_0110-169x300.png 169w, https:\/\/oddshoefinder.com\/oddshoesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_0110-300x533.png 300w, https:\/\/oddshoefinder.com\/oddshoesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_0110.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 201px) 85vw, 201px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the example above, I\u00a0could select &#8220;small&#8221; or &#8220;medium&#8221; and be within the allowable file size. Once, you&#8217;ve emailed the photos to yourself, simply save them on your device.<\/p>\n<p>Most\u00a0digital cameras allow\u00a0you to\u00a0change the size of your photos at the \u00a0point of taking them, in which case you won&#8217;t need to do anything else. If your camera doesn&#8217;t allow this, or doesn&#8217;t allow for photos less than 450mb, then\u00a0you&#8217;ll need to reduce the photo size.<\/p>\n<p>There are many free tools on the web which can reduce the file size of photos.
